Are you in deportation proceedings? If you are, then you probably heard the terms prosecutorial discretion. What does that mean? What that means is the Department of Homeland Security has the discretion or the power to decide if they want to either terminate, meaning dismiss your case and take you completely out of deportation proceedings or administratively close your case, which means take you off of the court’s calendar, take you off of the docket to allow you to continue receiving your work permit and have your applications pending.
